About Dumpling Masters: We are a manufacturer of dumplings and Asian-style buns, offering gluten-free, plant-based or traditional products in a variety of international flavors. Our core business is comprised of the following segments: 

  • Private Labeling - a collaboration of recipes and formulation of products that are manufactured, packaged, and distributed under other entity's brands.
  • Food Service / Wholesale - products are manufactured in bulk, unbranded boxes for sale to larger institutions including franchises, restaurants, schools, catering companies, hospital cafeterias, and other large-scale food operators.



Job Summary:

The Manager, Food Safety & Quality Assurance is a critical team member responsible for leading the development, implementation, and maintenance of food safety and people safety systems at Gluten Libre / Dumpling Masters LLC. This role involves overseeing the SQF Certified System, HACCP plans, and other certifications to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards. They will also manage and lead food safety, documentation, quality assurance, quality control procedures, and act as the primary contact during audits.


Key Responsibilities:


SQF Certified System Management:

  • Lead the ongoing implementation of the SQF Certified System at our Carlstadt, NJ production facility
  • Ensure the effectiveness of the system through verification, validation, and continuous improvement
  • Take firm appropriate action to maintain the integrity of the SQF system at all times
  • Communicate essential information to relevant personnel for effective implementation and maintenance
  • Maintain the integrity and development of the HACCP plan for the production facility
  • Ensure adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)


Document Management:

  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly reviews of production and food safety documents
  • Maintain up-to-date food safety technical documents for raw material vendors, ingredients, and packaging
  • Create and update all necessary documents for annual food safety procedures and SQF audits


Quality Control:

  • Oversee Quality Control on the production floor and ensure adherence to specific recipes
  • Partner with company leadership to evaluate, troubleshoot, and oversee any issues that may arise
  • Perform root cause analysis and CAPAs around product defects.
  • Develop and implement Quality Control procedures for newly created custom recipes
  • Work with production teams to ensure accuracy finished products
  • Continually improve Quality Assurance and systems to achieve production efficiencies.
  • Perform QC finished goods batch checks for adherence to finished product specifications.


Certification Management:

  • Maintain the integrity of relevant certifications, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations
  • Manage other food certifications (e.g., Gluten-Free, Organic) if pursued by the company


Audit Process:

  • Act as the primary contact during SQF audits, addressing auditor questions and concerns
  • Supply all necessary supporting documentation and clear corrective actions as required


Labeling and Technical Documents:

  • Create and review finished product labels to ensure accuracy of ingredient statements and allergen declarations
  • Organize technical documents related to the company’s finished products and serve as the direct customer contact for technical needs.


People Safety and Health:

  • Maintain health and safety standards
  • Identify area of improvements as well as identify trends to improve the safety and health of employees



Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3-5 years relevant experience
  • Certification in HACCP and SQF Level 3 Practitioner required
  • Experience in food manufacturing and food safety management required
  • Strong understanding of food safety regulations and standards
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
