Position Overview:
The Logistics Operations Supervisor plays a crucial role in supporting management with the oversight of drivers and staff within the Transportation Department. This position is essential for implementing schedules, managing departure times, and ensuring the daily operations of the department run smoothly and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Coordinate daily scheduling of drivers and staff to optimize workforce effectiveness.
2. Monitor driver departure times and accurately report the information.
3. Share on-call duties with other members of the Transportation Department.
4. Coordinate customer deliveries with drivers and inform customers of any delays or incidents.
5. Assist in determining rental requirements and equipment needs.
6. Handle phone inquiries and direct calls to appropriate personnel.
7. Serve as a backup for the Transportation Manager and assist with log data entry.
8. Summarize and publish results of quality checks and on-time reporting.
9. Collaborate with leasing companies to ensure proper maintenance schedules for trucks.
10. Act as a key communicator between various departments regarding schedule changes and new account services.
11. Perform additional duties as required.
Performance Metrics:
1. Demonstrate a willingness to accept challenges and additional responsibilities.
2. Complete tasks within established timelines and accuracy standards.
3. Exhibit effective teamwork capabilities.
4. Ensure quality and safety functions are performed in accordance with company standards.
5. Receive consistent positive feedback from both internal and external customers.
Qualifications:
Education: A college degree is preferred, or equivalent related experience.
Knowledge: Familiarity with Department of Transportation regulations is essential.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Access.
Skills/Abilities: Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, attention to detail, and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
