Role Description

This is a full-time role for a Mechanical Estimator at RM Welding & Installation Inc. The Mechanical Estimator will be responsible for accurately estimating the costs of mechanical projects, including process piping systems, structural steel, research laboratories, bio-pharmaceutical, semiconductor, medical gas, and Victaulic pipe. The role involves reviewing project plans and specifications, conducting material and labor take-offs, obtaining quotes from vendors and subcontractors, and preparing detailed cost estimates. This is a hybrid role based in Mount Airy, MD, with flexibility for some remote work.

Qualifications
  • Experience in estimating mechanical projects
  • Knowledge of process piping systems, structural steel, research laboratories, bio-pharmaceutical, semiconductor, medical gas, and Victaulic pipe
  • Ability to review project plans and specifications
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Proficiency in using estimating software and tools
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
