Position Overview
As our Airline Technical Representative (ATR) you provide support at SEA. The position is highly visible and plays a vital role supporting various strategic airport construction-related initiatives. You manage and coordinate complex aviation-related projects through all phases of programming, planning, design, and construction. Critical to your success is a rigorous focus on analysis and the ability to convey critical information to our clients.
You’ll manage tasks and schedules, attend project meetings, communicate directly with Airport and Airline staff, and document communications. Since you will regularly collaborate with clients and internal team members, you need excellent time management, communication, and writing skills.
Overall
- You’ve worked with Airport and Airline operations and have a strong understanding of how Airport systems impact Airline operational performance
- You’re able to solve complex problems involving diverse processes and workgroups
- You’re good at working effectively with multiple organizations to resolve issues and work towards a common goal
- You’re adept at leading large work groups, which includes: identifying actions, assigning responsibility, assigning due dates, assisting when practical, identifying and eliminating obstacles
- You’re well-versed in preparing and presenting materials describing complicated issues in easy-to-understand terms and concepts
- You’re capable of interpreting data to determine the root cause of issues and analyzing data to develop acceptable benchmarks for operational systems
Baggage
- You have a firm understanding of baggage handling systems and how they impact Airline operations
- You’re able to review the project’s phasing plan and assess Airline operational impacts
- You can coordinate with the project team and impacted Airlines to minimize and communicate operational impacts
- You’re capable of identifying project trends to forecast project schedule and quality issues
- You can add value at the daily Operations briefings to determine whether a project is impacting standard areas of the operation
- You can contribute to shutdown review meetings
- You capable of Chairing Airline-Airport Baggage Executive meetings
Airport Operations
- You own coordinating with bag system stakeholders to minimize operational disruptions and forecast vulnerable operating periods
- You can drive developing bag system contingency plans and collaborate with Airlines and the Airport to ensure they are implemented as needed
- You understand and strive to improve Airport’s Cruise Bag/Cold Bag processing
- You can tackle issues like Employee Parking: analyzing past documents to identify future employee requirements and analyzing options for recommended parking expansion
- You’re a champion of Airport capital project initiatives to ensure timely delivery of projects
What You've Done So Far
- 10+ years of working in the aviation industry: airlines and/or airports
- Mastered the art of building relationships and working collaboratively
- Developed strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Polished your communication skills
How You Built Your Foundation
- BA/BS in Architecture, Construction, Civil Engineering, Business, Finance, or Aviation Management
- Project Management skills, PMP a plus
