Appleton Finn are currently partnered with a leading Inter-Mountain state Heavy Civil Contractor seeking a professional with valuable estimating and plan reading skills for a growth opportunity as a Chief Estimator.


Responsibilities include assisting in pre-construction activities, creating detailed proposals and estimates, mentorship of junior estimators and development of the preconstruction department, and ensuring accuracy from conceptual design to final construction documents.


Responsibilities:

  • Review project plans and specifications, attend site visits, and define proposal requirements.
  • Solicit subcontractors and suppliers, prepare quantity takeoffs, and review proposals.
  • Develop accurate estimates, utilize software tools, and collaborate with project teams.
  • Ability to lead and develop a preconstruction department.


Skills and Qualifications:

  • Understanding of project plans, Heavy Civil construction, utilities, and site development scopes.
  • Proficiency in construction software and Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel.
  • Experience in roles of increasing responsibility in Heavy Civil construction.
  • Clean driving record and valid driver’s license required.
