Purchasing Coordinator

Seeking a full-time Purchasing Coordinator that will be responsible for managing inventory and purchasing materials and other supplies used in the business, to ensure the company has the right levels of stock to support the sales forecast.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Procure and manage fabrics and leathers. As well as support buying other raw materials, supplies and equipment
  • Manage “Customer Own Materials” (COM’s) for both US and UK operations, supporting US Sales efforts
  • Coordinate with Cutting team to obtain best yields for fabrics and leathers
  • Identify, communicate, track, and expedite production shortages and risks
  • Ensure that stock levels are evaluated daily and master data is maintained to prevent production outages
  • Assist with FedEx quotes, coordinate UK weekly shipment and expedite orders, fabric & leather repairs and samples
  • Maintain updated records of purchased products, delivery information and invoices
  • Good knowledge of vendor sourcing practices (finding, researching, evaluating, resolving issues, and liaising with vendors) ensure that stock available to meet production schedule and demand
  • Manage Invoice and receipt reconciliation and returns
  • Manage returns and intercompany fabric demands
  • Charge back suppliers for defective product

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Solid analytical skills with the ability to create financial reports and conduct cost analysis
  • Negotiation skills
  • Good knowledge of vendor sourcing practices (searching, evaluating and liaising with vendors)
  • Understanding of supply chain roles and practices
  • Computer skills including internet, MS Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Excellent time-management, problem-prevention, and problem-solving skills
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred
  • At least 1-2 years of related experience
