This position is responsible for coordinating and developing production schedules daily that considers raw material availability and efficiency to meet current lead times for all manufactured product line. Liaison between the Sales and Operation teams, including communication on a daily basis in lead times, delays, productions status, shortages, and any important information. This position works directly with the Operations Managers and Team Leads to ensure orders are being scheduled and completed efficiently. Strategically works with the Purchasing team regarding raw material lead times and procurement.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Translate projected forecasts, incoming volume, and work scopes into a production plan.
  • Optimize Spring, door, and TAS lines usage and make sure we always run each line 100% efficient.
  • Plan with the Operations Managers number of shifts, hours of operations, start or stop production line to meet efficiency and lead time.
  • Thorough understanding of the POPS/Sisense system for production scheduling and make recommendations for its improvement.
  • Work with the Sales department to determine forecasted demand and special requests to satisfy the customer.
  • Participate in sales meetings as requested with the emphasis of updating the Sales department with production status and order fulfillment.
  • Work with plant leadership to ensure customer lead times are achieved.
  • Review daily reports with communication to necessary departments with the adequate information and ensure proper scheduling of products.
  • Build a daily, weekly, and monthly reporting to share with the whole organization.
  • Develop a management system to support operations to reach efficiency and lead time targets.
  • Work with the Quality Assurance department regarding scheduling replacement orders due to RGAs.
  • Punctuality and regular attendance


NON-ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with the purchasing of raw materials.
  • Assist with ensuring the accuracy of raw material inventory.
  • Assist with raw material storage and layouts.
  • Work directly with the service centers to determine lead times regarding their stock replenishments.
  • Assist with scheduling truck and rail shipments to the service centers.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Physical ability to do work requiring frequent sitting in front of a computer for 8+hours per day
  • Physical ability to do walk through the raw material yard and shipping, staging areas to verify accuracy of incoming and outbound orders.
  • Must be able to lift to fifteen (15) pounds at times.
  • Office role requiring heavy use of computers, email, and telephones.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

REQUIRED:

  • High school diploma
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a production scheduling position


PREFERRED:

  • Business related degree
