Position Title: ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL - Anticipated vacancy

Location: KINGSTON HIGH SCHOOL

Salary: AS PER ASPA CONTRACT

REQUIRED PROFESSIONAL CREDENTIALS:

1. Masters Degree with training in the areas of school leadership, supervision, curriculum and educational philosophy.

2. Possess or qualify for New York State School Administrator and Supervisor or School District Administrator certification.

DESIRED PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCIES AND EXPERIENCES:

1. Sufficient training and experience (preferably five (5) years teaching and/or administrative experience at the secondary level) to develop, in conjunction with the building principal, a clear mission for the school and a demonstrated ability to convey that mission to the school community.

2. A knowledge of high school level curriculum design and practices, which should be supported by example of direct involvement and leadership in such activities.

3. A demonstrated knowledge of research-based systems of teacher supervision and evaluation.

4. A demonstrated ability to provide leadership and to assist in supervising the overall operation of the school.

5. Experience as an assistant principal or appropriate administrative background.
