Clinical Assistant

This position is involved with the day-to-day operations ensuring coverage of the Physical Therapy Department. The Physical Therapy Clinical Assistant works closely with the Physical/Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapy Manager, and Director. The Physical Therapy Clinical Assistant requires minimal supervision, assists with workflows in order to provide quality patient care, assumes responsibility for designated services and assists staff and Physical Therapy Manager in administration and management of meeting goals and objectives that are set forth by the Mankato Clinic’s Board of Directors and Administration.
Key Job Duties:
Greets and assigns patients to patient exam rooms
Takes blood pressure, height and weight measurements
Opens physical therapy note and documents fall risk, portal status, etc.
Educates patients on exam and answer general questions
Maintains patient care, comfort and safety during transport to and from the exam area
Completes necessary clerical-administrative tasks as assigned and serves as back-up to PT front desk
Required:
High school diploma or equivalent
Clerical skills including ability to utilize office computers/programs
Attention to detail, great team work skills, and excellent communication skills required
Must possess valid driver’s license
Current BLS (CPR) certification required or obtained within 90 days of start date
Preferred:
Any college degree
Two or more years of experience working as a Clinical Assistant, EMT, Nursing Assistant, or in direct patient care.
A general knowledge of medical practice
Dedication to patient satisfaction
Ability to work effectively with all providers, staff and patients

All employees scheduled 60-80 hours per pay period are eligible for full benefits.
