Environmental Conservation Planner

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Conservation Planner. You will be involved in the reconnaissance, acquisition, development, and entitlement of mitigation projects, including mitigation banks, permittee responsible mitigation, In-Lieu Fee programs and turnkey projects. Collaborate with internal teams, consultants, and regulatory agencies to drive our mission of long-lasting environmental restoration.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and secure approval of mitigation/conservation banking documents (Prospectus, Banking Instruments, etc.).
  • Manage project teams, ensuring clear communication and successful project delivery.
  • Develop project budgets and track financials against approved expenditures.
  • Maintain detailed project schedules and manage projects to meet timelines.
  • Engage with regulatory agencies to resolve project development challenges.
  • Assist in process improvement and compliance tracking.
  • Participate in business development through client meetings and conference engagements.
  • Collaborate with nonprofits, community members, and stakeholders to build local relationships.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Planning, Environmental Studies, Biology, Forestry, Landscape Architecture, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with CEQA, NEPA, 404 permitting, and mitigation planning or design.
  • Knowledge of California’s biological habitats, species, and conservation.
  • Strong writing and communication skills; experience with mitigation document development preferred.
  • Understanding of federal environmental laws and policies.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
