POSITION SUMMARY:
Aureon consulting as an immediate need for a Network Support Specialist to play a pivotal role in providing comprehensive technical support and solutions across various IT domains within our organization. This position requires a versatile skill set encompassing a wide range of IT disciplines, including but not limited to system administration, network management, cybersecurity, M365 implementation experience, and related technology troubleshooting. Role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to address IT-related challenges, implement new technologies, and ensure the smooth operation of IT systems and infrastructure.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide technical support and assistance to end-users, with an emphasis on network/firewall related issues, as well as hardware, software, connectivity, and network availability.
Administer and maintain servers, workstations, and other IT infrastructure components to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and security.
Manage network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points, to maintain connectivity and data integrity.
Implement and enforce cybersecurity measures, such as antivirus software, firewalls, and intrusion detection/prevention systems, to safeguard against cyber threats and vulnerabilities.
Respond to IT service requests and incidents in a timely and professional manner, troubleshooting issues and resolving them efficiently to minimize downtime.
Assist in the planning, deployment, and maintenance of IT projects, including software upgrades, hardware installations, and network expansions.
Document IT systems, procedures, and configurations to ensure accurate records and facilitate knowledge sharing among team members.
Stay informed about emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in IT, and recommend innovative solutions to improve efficiency and productivity.
Collaborate with vendors and external service providers to procure IT equipment, software licenses, and technical services as needed.
Provide training and guidance to end-users on IT tools and applications to enhance their proficiency and productivity.
Participate in IT-related meetings, discussions, and initiatives, contributing insights and recommendations to support organizational objectives.
Demonstrate commitment to providing outstanding customer service
Assume additional duties as defined by supervisor and executive management

EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE:
Required
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar IT role, demonstrating proficiency in system administration, network management, and technical support.
Route/Switch, and Firewall Support experience required, ideally with Fortinet, Meraki, and Ubiquiti.
Preferred
Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, or Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA).
Experience with cloud computing platforms, virtualization technologies, and ITIL practices.
Fortinet experience highly desired.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with end-users and stakeholders at all levels.
Proficiency in system administration tasks, including software installation, configuration, and maintenance.
Sound knowledge of networking principles and protocols, such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VLANs.
Familiarity with cybersecurity concepts and best practices, including data encryption, access controls, and security awareness training.
Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
