What You‘ll Do in This Position
Provide the leadership and direction for the Quality Engineering oversight activities within the division. Manage the initial and continued implementation
of and compliance with the company‘s QA Program (DOE Order 5700.6C) within the division. Provide the leadership and guidance for the quality
engineering function to provide assistance and direction to the division line organizations in the identification and implementation of the QA
requirements appropriate for the task or activity. Directly or indirectly support company/division missions and management objectives regarding the
protection of National Security and Public Health & Safety through compliance to DOE Rules and Orders and National Codes and Standards as related
to the nuclear production industry and environmental fields in the area of waste management environmental protection and nuclear process.
Safety is a primary responsibility in each job performed. Obtain safety training, obey safety rules, and make safety an integral part of each task.
Take the necessary steps to stop work if continuing the job is unsafe or will create an unsafe condition.
Manage personnel effectiveness through leadership, guidance and appropriate staffing and personnel actions within established limits. Provide
direction to the Quality Engineering Section regarding policy, management issues, and quality issues and operations. Staff the Section with the
appropriate technically qualified personnel to ensure the assigned tasks and responsibilities are complete in a competent and timely manner. Ensure
Section personnel are provided required training to maintain appropriate level of competence.
Establish Section priorities consistent with management direction and mission objectives to ensure tasks are completed within award fee and project
required completion dates.
Ensure division manager of Quality Assurance is informed of all potential quality related technical issues and personnel issues as appropriate.
Provide support, as appropriate, to the division manager of Quality Assurance for performing special assessments of division activities and for
periodic assessments to status the Division overall QA Program effectiveness, effecting continuous improvement to the Division‘s and company
programs and processes.
Effect corrective action for activities where conditions adverse to quality have been identified. Recommend the issuance of orders to stop work or
the further control operations or processing when conditions adverse to quality have been identified and immediate corrective action is required.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships and lines of communication with line and other interfacing organizations to support the
company Total Quality objectives.
Manage the review of procedures, drawings, instructions, procurement documents, etc. to ensure appropriate QA Program requirements are
included.
Provide assistance to DOE and other external organizations performing QA oversight of division activities.
Provide the direction for review of site and division level procedures for quality content and effective establishment of QA Program requirements.
Provide the direction for development and maintenance of internal procedures for implementing responsibilities and assigned duties of the division
Quality Assurance Department.
Perform performance appraisals of individual staff members and administer the salary and merit plan. Provide complimentary and constructive
feedback to individual staff members as appropriate.
Security Clearance Information
SRNS is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, criminal records, and employment history, and education verifications. Positions with SRNS may require applicants to obtain and maintain a DOE L or Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship. Factors such as pre-employment background review results, dual citizenship status, and unpaid and/or unfiled taxes may impact your ability to obtain a security clearance. This list of factors is not exhaustive; pre-employment information and security clearance requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

Ability to obtain and maintain a Q level security clearance.

A BS/BA degree in Engineering or Science
Experience in Commercial, Nuclear, or other closely regulated or ‘high technology‘ QA assignment
Conversant in quality programs, systems, and applicable Federal Regulations and Standards, Company Program requirements, and industry practices
