Role: AWS Cloud Solution Architect

Location: Cincinnati, OH

Work Mode: Hybrid

Salary Range: $140k - $150k


Job Description:

Overview: We are seeking an AWS Cloud Solution Architect to design, deploy, and manage AWS environments, ensuring compliance and security. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in AWS services, cloud migration, and infrastructure automation, with strong problem-solving skills and excellent communication abilities. A bachelor's degree and AWS certification are essential.


Responsibilities

  • Study existing technology landscape and understand current application workloads.
  • Understand and document technical requirements from clients.
  • Define migration strategy to move applications to the cloud.
  • Develop architecture blueprints and detailed documentation. Create a bill of materials, including required Cloud Services (such as EC2, S3, etc.) and tools.
  • Design the overall Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) environment including server instances, storage instances, subnets, availability zones, etc.
  • Design the AWS network architecture including VPN connectivity between regions and subnets.
  • Expertise in designing the HA/DR strategies.
  • Outline the 7 R strategies and develop a migration plan.
  • Validate the environment to meet all security and compliance controls.
  • Proficiency in creating architectural diagrams based on the AWS Well-Architected Framework.


Preferred Skills


  • Comprehensive understanding of key AWS services such as EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, RDS, and Cloud Formation.
  • Proven experience in assessing workloads for cloud suitability, developing business cases, and creating cloud adoption roadmaps.
  • Strong experience in defining new architectures, designing scalable and highly available solutions, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Expertise in AWS network architectures, security controls, and automation tools like Cloud Formation and Terraform.
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to establish credibility with stakeholders, and hands-on experience with Linux/Unix administration and scripting (Python, Bash) is desirable.
  • AWS Associate/Professional Solution Architect Certification is highly desirable.


Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 8+ years in IT with a minimum of 5 years focused on AWS, including designing, deploying, and managing infrastructure.
  • Proven experience in cloud migration projects and developing/executing migration strategies.
  • In-depth knowledge of AWS networking, security best practices, compliance requirements, and Docker/container orchestration tools.
  • Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting skills, and excellent communication/presentation skills.
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional or equivalent certification.
