POSITION SUMMARY: Becoming an Outfitter means uncapped earnings potential, career growth opportunities, and becoming a sleep expert. Sleep Outfitters is a growing mattress retailer that empowers its Outfitters to provide great service and build long-lasting relationships with its Guests.

District Managers are responsible for the oversight and leadership of a geographic grouping of stores. This position is responsible for driving sales performance by creating and ensuring an inclusive culture, aligned with Sleep Outfitters‘ vision to deliver outstanding Guest experiences is cultivated. As the primary voice and leader for the market the District Manager serves as an ambassador for the brand and will uphold and embody Sleep Outfitters‘ core values - Passion, Accountability, Credibility, and Trustworthiness - to the highest extent. A successful District Manager will focus on hiring, developing, and retaining a strong team that exceeds company standards across all areas of the store.

What You‘ll Do:

  • Develop and implement plans to execute the company‘s business plan and deliver outstanding Guest experiences to grow sales and meet and exceed store and district sales and performance plans.
  • Create an open, safe, and inclusive environment for all Outfitters to encourage strong teamwork and sharing best practices across the district.
  • Responsible for recruiting in the district to identify high potential candidates to ensure appropriate staffing levels are maintained.
  • Participate in the onboarding and training of a high-integrity team that exemplifies and commits to the brand‘s mission, vision, and values to drive performance and great Guest experiences.
  • Execute plans and implement initiatives to motivate, develop, and retain Mentors, Market Coordinators, Store Managers, and other Outfitters in the market area.
  • Establish, develop, and empower the Market Leadership Team (Market Coordinator, Mentor, Store Managers) to develop support systems and processes to build a self-sufficient team that drives consistency and grows through teamwork, feedback loops, and accountability measures. This will eliminate the need for the District Manager to be involved in routine, daily operational matters so they can focus on Leading the team‘s growth and development.
  • Partner with Market Leadership Team to:
    • Assess store and Outfitter performance to identify and maximize opportunities for development and growth.
    • Lead and facilitate team and individual training sessions to drive improved execution and results.
    • Set proper expectations for all Outfitters and ensure accountability to the expectations of each Outfitter and the team.
    • Develop and direct local marketing activities to drive community awareness of the brand and stores.
    • Provide timely, constructive, developmental feedback to all Outfitters.
  • Communicate regularly with all Outfitters in the market to make sure everyone is fully informed and hears the same message to ensure consistency across the market and with the company‘s objectives and goals.
  • Partner and collaborate across the organization to improve Outfitter and Guest experiences. (Warehouse and Delivery, Training, Human Resources, Finance, Merchandising, Guest Services, IT).
  • Other duties as may reasonably be assigned.

What You‘ll Need:

  • Bachelor‘s Degree preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience is required in a multiple retail location setting. A broad base of knowledge in sales, service, and operational management is necessary. Management-level experience with increasing responsibility is preferred.
  • Demonstrate the ability to effectively present information to top management and public groups. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw conclusions.
  • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions, follow instructions, and accept constructive feedback
  • Must function independently and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with others.
