JOB SUMMARY: The Project Director for the Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team is responsible for direct client services as a member of the clinical staff, clinical supervision of staff, and administration and leadership of the team.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Clinical Leadership

  • Lead the Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) program, implementing evidence-based therapies such as CBT and MI for both individual and group sessions.
  • Ensure strict adherence to the ACT model, delivering comprehensive care to clients with serious mental illnesses.
  • Provide clinical oversight for all program operations and staff, offering support to on-call staff when needed.

Program Management

  • Ensure program compliance with Medicaid, Medicare, OMH and BAC guidelines, while developing and monitoring a balanced annual budget.
  • Serve as the primary contact for ACT referrals, managing new cases, maintaining a waiting list, and conducting comprehensive clinical assessments.
  • Oversee and delegate the provision of all clinical services across assigned program areas.

Efficiency & Operations

  • Maintain open communication with program assistants to ensure quality charting standards and monitor staff productivity.
  • Provide billable direct services to ACT clients through counseling, crisis intervention, case management, and other direct services.
  • Participate in agency fundraising activities, ensure timely payroll submission, and manage personnel records.
  • Ensure all charts comply with accreditation standards.
  • Complete monthly reports for both internal and external stakeholders.

Supervision & Team Development

  • Directly supervise team members, monitoring and tracking their workflow and daily activities.
  • Recruit, hire, and train new team members, ensuring they meet the performance standards outlined in their evaluations.
  • Foster a positive team environment by displaying flexibility, cooperation, and a positive attitude in all interactions.
  • Establish and maintain professional and ethical relationships with individuals, families, and co-workers.
  • Conducts home visits at least 50% of the time during work week

Community Collaboration

  • Contribute to the development, management, and maintenance of a collaborative and cooperative service environment within the community.
  • Ensure ACT Team services are aligned with community needs, maintaining a strong and positive presence in the community.

Compliance & Reporting

  • Monitor, assess, and evaluate programs to ensure they meet compliance with established goals and standards.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs other duties as needed by program needs.
  • The program is a 24/7 service with rotating on-call with possible evening and weekend availability.


SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, & ABILITIES:

  • Proficiency in evidence-based practices (CBT, MI) and the ACT model.
  • Strong leadership and supervision abilities, with skills in crisis management.
  • Program management knowledge, including compliance with Medicaid and Medicare.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, fostering community partnerships.
  • Organizational skills with a focus on compliance, quality assurance, and cultural competence.
  • Technological proficiency in EHR and Microsoft Office.


WORK EXPERIENCES:

  • MINIMUM: One (1) year of supervisory/administration experience required
  • MINIMUM: One (1) year Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) experience/multi-disciplinary mobile team experience strongly preferred
  • MINIMUM: One (1) year of specialized addiction training needed to understand and treat the complexities of addiction.


EDUCATION:

  • MINIMUM: Master's degree in social work, psychology, counseling or related field required.


LICENSES:

  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of New York. (Preferred)
  • Licensed Master Social Worker, Licensed Mental Health Counselor (required)
  • Advance CASAC (preferred) CASAC (required)
