LHH Recruitment Solutions has partnered with a growing organization, and they are seeking a Maintenance Manager to join their team in Chicago, IL. The Maintenance Manager will lead the maintenance team and oversee all aspects of maintenance operations within the plant facility. You will be responsible for managing a team of maintenance technicians, ensuring the effective implementation of maintenance programs, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of maintenance leadership experience, knowledge of CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System), experience with Plant Improvement Projects, and familiarity with LEAN and Kaizen/5S methodologies. Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and experience in food manufacturing are advantageous. Competitive Salary and Benefits Package (PTO, Medical, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance) are offered.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the maintenance team, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management.
  • Develop and implement maintenance strategies, policies, and procedures to optimize equipment reliability, minimize downtime, and reduce maintenance costs.
  • Utilize CMMS to schedule and track maintenance activities, prioritize work orders, and ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and execute plant improvement projects, utilizing CAD knowledge for design and implementation.
  • Implement LEAN principles and Kaizen/5S methodologies to drive continuous improvement in maintenance processes and efficiency.
  • Conduct regular inspections of equipment and facilities to identify maintenance needs, safety hazards, and opportunities for optimization.
  • Develop and manage the maintenance budget, including forecasting expenses, controlling costs, and evaluating spending against budgetary targets.
  • Foster a culture of safety, quality, and accountability within the maintenance team, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and external vendors to coordinate maintenance activities, procure parts and supplies, and address maintenance-related issues.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and technological advancements in maintenance management and implement relevant improvements.


Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of Maintenance Leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) software for maintenance planning and scheduling.
  • Previous experience implementing plant improvement projects.
  • Familiarity with LEAN principles and Kaizen/5S methodologies for continuous improvement.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is preferred.
  • Experience in food manufacturing is a plus.
  • Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on driving results and achieving operational objectives.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
