Position Overview

Job Title: Maintenance Manager

Location: Chicago, IL

Status: Full-time


Key Responsibilities

  1. Total Productive Maintenance (TPM): Develop and execute comprehensive TPM plans including Autonomous Maintenance (AM) and Preventive Maintenance (PM), ensuring optimal equipment performance and minimizing unplanned downtime.
  2. LEAN and Six Sigma Implementation: Drive LEAN and Six Sigma methodologies throughout maintenance operations, identifying opportunities for process optimization and waste reduction.
  3. Union Maintenance Leadership: Provide guidance and support to line leaders to ensure the effective execution of maintenance activities and foster a culture of Continuous Improvement within a union environment.


Key Qualifications

  1. Engineering Degree: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field, with a strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems within a manufacturing environment.
  2. Expertise in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma: Demonstrated proficiency in implementing Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles to streamline maintenance processes and improve overall plant performance.
  3. Union Leadership: experience managing union employees and resolving conflict
  4. TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) Expertise: Proven track record of implementing and managing TPM initiatives, including a deep understanding of the principles and practices necessary for achieving optimal equipment effectiveness and reliability.
  5. Proven Leadership Skills: Experience in effectively leading and coaching teams, with a focus on fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and Continuous Improvement.
  6. Analytical Skills: Strong analytical capabilities to assess complex maintenance challenges, identify root causes, and implement data-driven solutions for sustainable improvements.
  7. Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  8. Food & Beverage Manufacturing Background: Prior experience in a Food & Beverage manufacturing environment, with a comprehensive understanding of the unique challenges and regulations associated with maintaining equipment and facilities in the Food & Beverage industry.
  9. ERP and SAP Proficiency: Proficiency in enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and SAP software, with the ability to utilize these tools effectively to manage maintenance operations, track inventory, and streamline processes for maximum efficiency.
