Role Overview: As a Field Service Technician, you’ll be the face of Independent Electric, delivering top-notch service and repair for motors, power systems, and distribution equipment. Whether you’re on-site at customer locations or working in our shop, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring our equipment performs at its best. If you’re detail-oriented, hands-on, and ready to take on exciting challenges, we want you on our team

What You’ll Do:

  • Customer Interaction: Professionally reach out to customers to schedule and coordinate service visits. Build strong relationships by providing exceptional service.
  • Diagnose and Repair: Troubleshoot and diagnose electromechanical equipment to pinpoint issues. Perform repairs that meet manufacturer, OSHA, ASME, and company standards.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Submit clear and accurate paperwork for quotes and parts orders. Complete all documentation related to inspections, services, and repairs in a timely manner.
  • Final Testing: Conduct thorough testing of repaired equipment to ensure it meets all quality and safety standards.
  • Facility Maintenance: Assist with light facility maintenance and use equipment such as forklifts, scissor lifts, and boom lifts.
  • Vehicle Operation: Operate company vehicles for field service and, if required, obtain a DOT Medical card.
  • Finish Work: Handle painting and final labeling of equipment as needed.
  • Continuous Learning: Participate in regular safety, knowledge, and quality training sessions to stay sharp and up-to-date.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Technical Knowledge: Understanding of 3-phase power and experience with electromechanical equipment.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to navigate stairs and ladders frequently, and perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 75 lbs, standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and climbing.
  • Safety and Compliance: Knowledge of and adherence to safety standards, including OSHA and ASME regulations.
  • Detail-Oriented: Strong attention to detail in diagnosing, repairing, and documenting work.
