Position: Jr. QA Technician

Location: Boca Raton, FL

Length: Long-term (3+ years)

Shift: Onsite from Day 1

Job Description:

• Must be located in South East Florida (Boca Raton area) and able to be in office full time during the work week to perform duties

As a quality assurance technician you will be responsible for performing validation testing of our public safety applications to validate that planned changes to the application and supporting systems and infrastructure do not impact the quality of the deployed solutions.

This is not a deskside role and will require the candidate to work closely with engineering and development staff to ensure that the solution is of high quality and meets or exceeds customer expectations for availability, performance, and usability/functionality.

Quality Assurance Technician Job Duties:

• Review and analyze system specifications.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Development teams to develop effective strategies and test plans
• Execute test cases (manual or automated), thoroughly document and analyze results
• Report defects to Engineering and Development teams and assist with resolution as required.
• Evaluate new/updated product/system code and updates according to specifications and validate quality/functionality according to provided specifications/test cases.
• When required, work with end users on user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure that software and systems meet customer requirements.
• Create logs to document testing phases and defects
• Report bugs and errors to engineering and/or development teams as required
• Help troubleshoot issues
• Conduct post-release/ post-implementation testing
• Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle

Skills Required

Mandatory:

• Be able to review and analyze system specifications, and the changes being applied to those systems.
• Collaborate with engineers and developers to develop effective strategies and test plans
• Execute test cases (manual or automated) and analyze results
• Evaluate product code according to specifications
• Create logs to document testing phases and defects
• Report bugs and errors to development teams
• Help troubleshoot issues discovered during testing
• Conduct post-release/post-implementation testing
• Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development/infrastructure systems lifecycle

Qualifications:

• Strong Written/Oral communications Skills
• Strong familiarity with the windows platform
• Strong familiarity with testing web-based applications
• Familiarity with ITIL processes
• 2+ Years Quality Assurance testing experience
