Service Cashier/AdministratorThe Service Cashier/Administrator is responsible for processing payments for work completed or purchase of parts requests, proper reconciliation of repair orders and parts invoices, and the collection of money from Parts and Service transactions in the dealership.Day-to-day ResponsibilitiesInspect every service repair order and/or parts invoice for proper completion and accuracyReconcile the repair orders by transferring the appropriate information from each repair order hard copy to the soft copiesCalculate the materials charge applicable for each orderCalculate the taxes to be charged on the categories of goods or services taxed in the local areaCollect the total retail charges from the customer in cash, check or authorized charge accountProvide the customer with the proper change and/or receiptComplete the accounting section of the repair order as directed by the controllerUpdate the customer's service history file according to the procedures specific to the department's service history systemDeliver to the accounting department all repair orders and parts invoices closed during the business dayControl the keys associated with completed repair orders, return keys to the customer/or porter when bills are paid, and direct customers to where they may find their vehicleFile repair orders as directed by the service department managerAnswer the service department telephone, transfer calls to the people requested or best suited to take the calls, and take written messages when the needed personnel are not availableControl and turn into the business office any sublet bills associated with the repair ordersEnsure that customer complaints are handled promptly, with genuine concern and according to dealership guidelinesReport to management any situation or condition that jeopardizes the safety, welfare, or integrity of the dealership, its employees, or customersPerform any other administrative tasks as directed by managementRequirements for This JobHigh school diploma or equivalentAbility to read, write, add, subtract, divide and comprehend written instructions and information6-12 months previous work experience (preferred)Demonstrated customer service skillsDemonstrated communication and interpersonal skillsPrevious industry experience (preferred)Exciting Benefits and Perks Await You:Competitive compensation and 401k matchingEnjoy a healthy work-life balance with insurance plans (health, dental, vision) and maternity benefits.Associate purchase and discount programs for new and pre-owned vehicles, services, parts, collision, accessories, and AutoGearAccess amazing deals and discounts through YouDecide, a website with offers from top providers and retailersJoin our DRVPNK mission to raise and donate millions of dollars to cancer research and treatment, partnering with cancer charities nationwideAutoNation is one of the largest automotive retailers in the United States, offering innovative products, exceptional services, and comprehensive solutions, empowering our customers to make the best decisions for their needs.
