Mental Health Clinician II

The Mental Health Clinician II will work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team serving homeless adults experiencing severe and persistent mental illness and substance use disorders. Provides targeted services to individuals that are highly vulnerable, lack of service connections or other support, and unable to engage in traditional service models. Clinician will collaborate with medical team, provide relevant psychoeducation to the larger team, and conduct clinical case review and staffing with other team members. Services will be provided at locations to include emergency homeless shelters, transitional homeless shelters, homeless encampments, transportation hubs, train stations, and other pertinent community location where people may gather.
*ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES* include the following.
* Knowledge of service delivery models of including groups, skills training, brief/focused therapy, community-based interventions for adults with serious and persistent mental illness.
* Ability to communicate and engage effectively with individuals of varied backgrounds, trauma experiences, cultures, education level and socio-economic status.
* Perform mental health assessments and intake evaluations on selected clients; with the client’s participation, develop support and treatment plans.
* Plan, organize and facilitate treatment and support groups for clients, as appropriate.
* Provide staff/client training on substance abuse issues as appropriate.
* Participate as a member of a multi-disciplinary team providing ongoing advocacy and integration of services to homeless individuals.
* Advocate for client access to community resources and services, ensuring that client needs are met and rights maintained; consult and collaborate with community providers to ensure continuity of care.
* Participate in psychiatric consultation, supervision, program meetings and in‑service trainings; participate in clinical reviews and case conferences for clients on caseload.
* Perform FBH charting requirements, correspondence, Workday and other paperwork in a timely manner.
* Comply with the agency’s clinical accountability policies and procedures; maintain current and complete clinical records; participate in quality assurance reviews when assigned.

_*QUALIFIED CANDIDATES WILL HAVE:*_
*REQUIRED:*
1. Master’s degree in psychology, counseling, social work or related field from accredited college or university.
2. At the time of hire, must have applied for one of the following DOH credentials:
* Licensed Agency Affiliated Counselor (LAAC) *OR*
* License Mental Health Counselor Associate (LMHCA) *OR*
* Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker Associate (LICSWA) *OR*
* Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate (LMFTA) *AND THEN*
* Credential must be active with DOH within 6 months of hire date unless currently have active LMHC, LMFT or LICSW.
3. Meet the requirements of a Mental Health Professional as defined by WAC .
*PREFERRED:*
* 2 years’ experience providing clinical behavioral services.
*KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:*
* *Must have reliable transportation, insurance and an active driver’s license and be willing to use personal vehicle in the course of work.*

* Occasional frequent travel between locations is required.
* The ability to drive a vehicle, traverse distances up to several city blocks and on various terrains, navigate stairs, get in and out of vehicles frequently is required.
* Daily use of a computer is required.
* May be required to lift 10 - 20 pounds.

* *Mental Health Clinician III - Licensure: *$33.70 - $41.06
