This position is a perfect fit for an experienced fundraising professional with experience in obtaining 6-figure gifts. Is this you? Your expertise will enable you to work 3 days a week with an annual compensation from $120,000 to $160,000.


About You: As our experienced, dynamic and entrepreneurial Director of Development, you would apply your strong leadership and relationship-building skills to create and implement funding campaigns. In this role, you will work closely with the Chair, Sr. Director of Research & Operations, and Board in developing partnerships that will increase our resources as well as the visibility of the Foundation.

Responsibilities:

Fundraising

  • Creates and implements the development plans and programs
  • Ensures philanthropic potential is optimized through the development of cultivation and solicitation strategies; Leads prospect strategy sessions to drive gift closures
  • Collaborates with the Founder and Chairman, the Senior Director of Research & Operations, as well as the Board of Directors, with fundraising engagement; provides strategic briefings prior to donor visits; arranges follow ups from visits and events
  • Lead, educate, engage and coordinate our fundraising efforts and activities with the Development and Communications Coordinator
  • Liaison with our Board members to recruit, cultivate and improve relations with donors and prospective donors; engage and solicit major gift prospects
  • Coordinate with partners and stakeholders on donor prospect/recruitment and marketing efforts
  • Set and meet fundraising objectives and goals; evaluate ongoing results and guide new initiatives
  • Establish and monitor key metrics for development activities; create reports and data analysis to track programs


Management

  • Reports to and works with the Founder and Chairman, the Senior Director of Research & Operations, as well as the Board of Directors with annual planning, budgeting, goal setting for activities and providing reports with fundraising progress
  • Responsible for the success to reach quarterly and annual revenue goals; ensures the program is highly efficient and effective
  • Lead, inspire, and mentor the Development and Communications Coordinator to achieve relationship-building and funding objectives


Qualifications:

  • Personal passion for the mission, principles, and values of The Stone Research Foundation
  • Minimum of five years non-profit/business leadership experience working with major donors
  • Knowledge of creating and managing a budget
  • Experience cultivating, soliciting and stewarding donors with a proven history of working with major donors and foundations
  • Experience building a successful fundraising platform including investment in people and systems
  • Excellent user of office technology and information systems (including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and donor databases, preferably e-Tapestry
  • Responsible for carrying out policies, strategies, and modeling best practices in fundraising
  • Experience with project management, event planning, and gift planning
  • Superior interpersonal, oral and written communication and presentation skills with the ability to represent the Foundation’s mission and interests to a diverse population
