About the Job

This position will supervise the running of a production line(s) on 2nd Shift for our Wilmington, MA plant. You will be responsible for ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency in all production processes. Key responsibilities include:

  • Inspecting the production line for safety hazards before and during production.
  • Ensuring that daily safety report cards are properly filled out and collected.
  • Reading and understanding specification sheets to ensure GMPs are followed.
  • Producing product efficiently, performing changeovers, packing product, and transferring the product to new locations.
  • Running a balance of production, machine repair/troubleshooting, and assisting the Production Manager as needed.
  • Performing a degree of maintenance on equipment.
  • Communicating and recommending disciplinary action for any violations of company rules and policies.


Responsibilities

  • Conduct physical and visual inspections of the assigned work area for any safety hazards before the shift starts.
  • Continuously observe for safety hazards during shift operations.
  • Ensure GMP compliance and make immediate corrections to discrepancies, reporting them to the supervisor/manager.
  • Verify components on work orders to ensure the correct number of components are available for production.
  • Ensure all employees adhere to safety regulations and wear PPE.
  • Train Line Workers to meet daily production goals.
  • Update production metrics on the hourly production whiteboard.
  • Ensure paperwork for skid tickets, line checks, and quality checks are conducted.
  • Coordinate with Material Handlers to bring additional components for production as needed.
  • Instruct the sanitation crew to clean up production line waste during and after production.
  • Escalate production issues to the Production Manager as needed.
  • Perform quality checks of the line.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Education and Experience

  • Minimum High School Diploma, Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment highly preferred.
  • Excellent written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Goal-oriented, confident, outgoing, and able to work well under pressure.
  • Ability to work independently and demonstrate effective initiative.
  • Strong computer skills, including Outlook and Excel.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
  • Must be 18 years or older.
