Position Overview:

We are seeking a candidate that is proficient in AutoCAD and preferably have experience drafting for a finish trade or have an architectural background. The candidate must be detail oriented and be able to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team, and to effectively manage multiple project and priorities simultaneously. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of stone materials, fabrication techniques, and construction methods, coupled with proficient 2D and 3D drafting skills using industry-standard software.

Drafting:

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Inventor, Revit, and able to produce error-free drawings
  • Create detailed technical drawings and plans using AutoCAD Software to create accurate and precise stone drawings that meet project requirements and design intent.
  • Interpret and translate rough sketches, drawings, and specifications into detailed shop drawings.
  • Use CAD software to generate 2D and 3D models of stone elements and custom features.
  • Review and analyze drawings for accuracy and completeness.
  • Make necessary revisions to drawings based on Architect’s review and changes in the project scope.
  • Incorporate engineering design, anchoring details, and requirements into the shop drawings for both fabrication and field installation use.
  • Coordinate with the stone fabricator specific requirements and details.
  • Conduct job site visits as needed to verify measurements or resolve discrepancies in the design drawings.
  • Communicate effectively with internal team members and external customers to ensure project deadlines are met and expectations are exceeded.
  • Required proficiency: AutoCAD, Inventor, and Revit (or similar CAD software)

Layout & Scanning

  • Proficiency in survey and 3D scanning technology such as Total Stations, laser levels, laser scanners, photogrammetry, and point cloud processing.
  • Conduct detailed layout surveys of project sites, verifying dimensions, elevations, and critical reference points for installation crews.
  • Utilize Total Stations and laser levels to accurately measure and mark layout points for finish materials.
  • Utilize 3D scanners to capture detailed data of substrates and building structures.
  • Process and analyze 3D data using specialized software such as Navisworks, Collage, and Recap, and Verity (or similar / equal software).
  • Generate high-quality 3D models, point clouds, and overlays for interpretation and manipulation into project shop drawings.
  • Coordinate with the Team to ensure alignment between 3D models and onsite conditions, resolving any discrepancies or conflicts that arise during the layout process.
  • Provide technical support to installation crews, interpreting layout plans, 3D models, and other documentation to facilitate efficient and accurate installation of materials.
  • Maintain accurate records of survey data, 3D models, and as-built documentation, updating drawings as needed to reflect changes throughout the project.
  • Strong understanding of surveying techniques including Total Station, laser levels, and 3D Scanners.
  • Software: Navisworks, Collage, and Recap, and Verity (or similar / equal software).

Project Coordination:

  • Manage and review of all project documentation, including but not limited to submittals, drawings, changes, engineering, bulletins, and RFIs, and coordinating with shop drawings.
  • Document all changes that affect scope and communicate quantity impacts to the project manager for pricing and schedule impacts.
  • Request, create, and track all project submittals such as stone samples, product data, design and engineering, safety, work plans, and close out.
  • Coordinate and track material orders, packing lists, and deliveries.
  • Maintain organized project files, documentation, and version control for all drafting deliverables, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and accessibility throughout the project lifecycle.
