This dealership is part of the Bent's family of dealerships, who have been in the recreation business for over 40 years. Bent’s RV #1 Goal is to make our customers want to buy from Bent’s RV and to tell their friends about the GREAT experience they have had with buying from Bent’s RV. The dealership sells top performing products like Montana, Cougar, Passport, Springdale and Wildwood among others. Consistently profitable, but in need of a growth focused Sales Manager, this dealership is poised to reach the next level. This position reports to the General Manager, who oversees both the Albany and Boutte locations.


As Sales Manager, you are responsible for operating a world-class sales department efficiently and exceeding the sales department’s profitability targets while meeting customer expectations. You will operate the department at maximum production while controlling costs, building a loyal clientele, maintaining good employee relationships, and achieving sales and profit objectives. The ideal candidate is a motivated, well-organized individual who has a deep understanding of prospecting and developing strong relationships with customers. Excellent communication, supervisory, and managerial skills. guidelines. Understand and comply with all regulations Hire, train, motivate all sales and finance personnel

Inventory management Manage the sales follow-up system to maximize sales. Communicate with manufacturers as necessary. Maintain all required reporting systems. Promote Sales of Financing, Extended Warranties, GAP, Tire Guard, Paint & Fabric Protection packages to customers. Maintain commitment to customer satisfaction, quality and integrity. Conduct himself/herself ethically and to permit no unethical conduct from others. Actively participate in ongoing personal training and development as offered by the company. Maintain a level of complete trust, integrity and, as appropriate, confidentiality with customers, vendors, and fellow company members.

Daily Sales Manager Duties:

  • Meet or exceed forecast goals and objectives for the department, as assigned by the General Manager.
  • Excellent communication, supervisory, and managerial skills. Ability to operate the department at a profit according to dealership guidelines.
  • Handle customer complaints immediately and in accordance with the dealership’s guidelines.
  • Work in harmony and teamwork with all other departments.
  • Understand, keep abreast of, and comply with federal, state, and local regulations that affect the Sales Department.
  • Hire the best possible candidates for each position in s/he oversees.
  • Train, motivate, counsel, and monitor the performance of all direct reports.
  • Recommend for termination employees who are not meeting their employment objectives.
  • Oversee effective and creative arrangement of inventory.
  • Oversee sales follow-up system to maximize sales.
  • Close sales as necessary.
  • Communicate with manufacturers as necessary.
  • Supervise Finance & Insurance Department.
  • Keep abreast of best practices in the industry.
  • Direct and schedule the activities of direct reports for efficient coverage.
  • Proactively maintain all required reporting systems.
  • Promote sales of Financing, Extended Warranties, GAP, Tire Guard, Paint & Fabric Protection packages to customers.
  • Hold daily creative and motivational sales meetings.
  • Attend managers meetings, actively participating, bringing new ideas, evaluating current performance and continually seeking to improve the dealership’s overall sales performance.
  • Cover the Finance desk in the absence of the Finance Manager.


Marketing – Make sure RVs are displayed in a manner that looks professional and makes them desirable. This includes layout of RV display (give porters instructions) posting payments and marketing information organizing effective promotions. Come up with ideas for advertising etc. to attract customers to the dealership.


Maintain Bentsrv.com website - Make sure all units are online with correct pricing, pictures, and status. Make sure all landing pages and banners are current and accurate. Make sure staff photos are up to date.


Promotions / RV Shows - Help in the planning for the RV shows / rally’s / off site promotions. Organize additional help for set up and tear down of these events. Make suggestions to make the dealership stand out at these events.

Hours of Work - Monday through Friday 8am to 6pm and Saturday 9am to 4pm. Sales Manager is responsible for ensuring that salesmen keep these hours. If something is to change, General Manager must be notified.


Inventory – Make sure units are cleaned by porters and presentation of units looks professional. Help project stocking levels for the various models using monthly model sales history. Report any repairs needed for any units available for sale to Service Manager. Ensure that trade units are being processed through service in a timely manner.


Sales People – Training, recruiting and managing a staff of productive sales people. Sales people are to follow the sales process. Start with the customer interview sheet to be completed in full. This allows a manager to understand what the customer’s thoughts are to be able to get the customer into the correct unit and make the best opportunity for the dealership.

CRM - Ensure that all ups are logged in the G-2 CRM. Turn overs are required on each customer to ensure we have made every attempt to close the customer.

Sales Goals – The dealership has Goals for each Salesman as well as dealership goals. Measure these daily/ weekly to ensure that the dealership is hitting the goals. If not corrective action needs to be determined to get the salesman on track.


Communication – Create a link between all salespeople and between dealership and customer in order to reach or exceed sales goals and move RVs from inventory for the greatest good of the dealership. Assist salespeople especially new trainees. Provide sales people with someone to help them make a sale whether it be another salesperson or stepping in as a sales manager. Make sure customer is matched with effective sales person and make sure every possible effort is being made to close customers.


Security – Make sure units are closed, locked, put away and dealership is closed before leaving.

Manage Deliveries – Work with service and salespeople / F&I Manager to facilitate organized delivery schedule. Make sure parts for PDI are ordered ahead of time. Make sure adequate prepayment is received from customers before PDI begins.


Sales Meetings – Hold informative daily meetings to organize and train sales staff in order to grow as a more professional team. One on One meetings with salespeople to be held bi-weekly. Review specific information about their progress with individual customers and how they are progressing toward their goals.


Porters - Porters are to be used by the sales department to aid in the cleaning of stock RVs and Sold RVs. Each day the porters should have a schedule of duties – units to wash or prep for delivery. Stock RV’s must be kept clean and the interior décor etc. in presentable condition. Bent’s RV stickers should be put on every unit when it is delivered to the lot. Ensure these stickers are on every unit as it is being delivered.


Product Selection - Determine what models and manufacturers need to be in stock to maximize sales opportunities. Look at what units are selling at BRV and other dealerships.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Business
  • 3+ years of sales manager experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
