Job Summary
Under the direction and supervision of the Clinic Nurse Manager, supervises clinical and non-clinical Associates.  Assists with or conducts delegated projects, assumes managerial responsibilities in the absence of the Nurse Manager.  Provides professional nursing services to patients utilizing components of the nursing process, which include: assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation.  Utilizes knowledge of professional nursing practice in providing age appropriate patient care based on scientific principles, nursing standards of practice, and standards of care for specific patient populations.  Responsible for the direct supervision of the assigned Neighborhood Health Center associates and for clinical support direction of patient care and treatment.  Assures compliance with standards, policies and requirements of regulatory agencies and delivery of appropriate clinical services to all patients.  Evaluates and recommends programs, procedures for improved operations, modifications to and/or implementations of new procedures with hospital departments and outside agencies.

1. Possesses critical thinking and problem solving skills.
2. Effective oral and written, communication skills.
3. Effective supervisory skills.
4. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
5. Effective assessment, evaluation, and resolution skills.
6. Knowledge of Joint Commission and Texas Department of Health requirements for Rural Clinics.
7. Ability to foster team- building strategies.
8. Working knowledge of the principles and fundamentals, related to budgeting, accounting, and record keeping.
9. Skills in establishing effective and constructive working relationships, with the ability to plan, organize and provide direction to Associates.

Work Experience
One year of experience in a lead/supervisory capacity required.

License/Registration/Certification
Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas.
Current CPR training required.

Education and Training
Bachelor of Science in Nursing required.  Master degree preferred.
