Job Overview: The Fleet Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair operations of the company's truck fleet. The primary focus is on cost savings, ensuring proper asset life-cycling, and minimizing downtime.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance Planning and Scheduling:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive maintenance schedule for the entire fleet.
  • Coordinate with drivers and dispatch to ensure minimal disruption to operations during scheduled maintenance.
  • Cost Management:
  • Monitor and control maintenance budgets, identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising safety or quality.
  • Negotiate with vendors to secure competitive pricing for parts and services.
  • Conduct thorough Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) analyses for each vehicle in the fleet, taking into account the acquisition costs, maintenance expenses, fuel efficiency, and depreciation value.
  • Utilize data and historical records to identify trends and patterns in maintenance costs and overall asset performance.
  • Asset Life-Cycling:
  • Develop and execute a strategic plan for the life-cycling of company assets.
  • Conduct regular assessments of the fleet's condition and recommend upgrades or replacements as necessary.

  • Utilize telematics systems to collect data on fuel consumption, driver behavior, and vehicle performance.
  • Analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement in fuel efficiency.
  • Resale Value Optimization:
