About this Position:

The Honda Development and Manufacturing Production Engineering team is responsible for the operational technology security of the manufacturing environment. The OT Security Equipment Engineer supports the NA system owner for the automated equipment backup system as well as support for incident response management to restore equipment function. The scope of this function covers manufacturing equipment hardware/firmware/software, enterprise system management, data analysis and reporting, and collaboration with IT/business users to ensure secure, consistent and efficient equipment backup and recovery across all HDMA locations and equipment.

Responsibilities include:

  • Support users to get equipment into the automated backup system, set an appropriate backup schedule, and perform routine auditing of the backup functions.
  • Analyze and resolve issues with getting equipment to backup properly including collaboration with the user and the system vendor.
  • Report generation and plan creation for any actions that are needed to achieve/maintain system targets.
  • Support system owner with system and change point management and address system improvements including data integrity and asset inventory management to the maintenance/work order systems.
  • Support equipment recovery processes as necessary as part of normal business or as part of incident response.

Who we are seeking:

Required Work Experience:

  • 0-2 years of experience with machine control networks / industrial control systems (ICS); basic understanding of communication networks.

Required Education:

  • Bachelor‘s degree in electrical, Networking, or Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity, or Computer Science.

Desired skills:

  • Knowledge of the manufacturing environment & Microsoft Office
  • Possesses Engineering math skills and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to: read drawings/flowcharts/specifications; trouble shoot problems; multi-task and prioritize multiple projects and tasks; work in a team environment as well as independently; and present to varying audiences.
  • Can respond effectively to unusual demands and special projects.
  • Able to work with a diversity of associates without creating barriers or conflict.

Additional Position Factors:

  • Flexible Work Hours
  • Flexible Work Schedule
  • Estimate 2-4 Business trips per year may be required to support regional initiatives and improve overall efforts to improve standardization across the region. This activity may require short-term assignments at other Honda sites for 1-to-2-week periods.
  • 5-10 hours of OT per week
  • Weekend and holiday work may be required
