The ExxonMobil Foundation Houston STEM LLC was established to invest directly in students' futures through high-quality, hands-on learning opportunities at our Teen Engineering & Tech Centers (TETC).


Job Summary:

What role you will play in our team

At the core of our Teen Engineering & Tech Center work is the desire to meaningfully increase the number of teens from under-served communities with an interest in engineering and the basic math and science skills necessary to pursue an engineering degree and, ultimately, a career at ExxonMobil. Our first two TETC locations will open in Fall 2024 in the Houston area with plans for expansion across the US and globally.


Through the primary job functions described here, the Program Operations Manager will manage the student culture and experiences at one of our TETC locations, ensuring students feel safe, have the resources they need to attend regularly, and remain highly engaged in programming. Additionally, you will oversee overall daily operations and interactions of the Center including supervision of students, management of site resources and of the facility – including student meals, transportation and volunteer/family programming.


Primary Job Functions:

What you will do:

  • Lead student culture and experience programming ensuring high student retention, program engagement and academic success
  • Lead operational activities relating to program support services, including but not limited to transportation, campus safety and security, facility maintenance, and food services.
  • Identify student needs and coordinate efforts to mitigate personal and academic challenges that hinder student success
  • Coordinate and support volunteer/mentor programs, events, and activities
  • Manage student incentives program
  • Manage the safety and well-being of students while at the Center
  • Cultivate, engage and maintain relationships and programs with parents
  • Coordinate and collaborate across team to assure highest quality experience for students
  • Support with student recruitment efforts
  • Coordinate updates to external stakeholders (social media and newsletters)
  • In partnership with the TETC Site Director, oversee fiscal matters including purchasing, inventory and implementation of financial policies.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with Center vendors


Job Requirements:

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Ability to provide exceptional service to students and families
  • Bilingual in Spanish
  • Demonstrated sensitivity to multicultural, socioeconomic, and regional differences among students and staff from diverse backgrounds
  • Excellent organizational skills and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent oral/written communication and customer service skills
  • Demonstrated experience building safe and trusted connections with youth and adults
  • Demonstrated ability to work across teams and with a variety of stakeholders
  • Commitment to the success of every student


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Entrepreneurial experience with education start-up a plus
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a service-oriented environment or educational setting
  • Experience working with first-generation and/or low-income students to promote student success - Demonstrated sensitivity to multicultural, socioeconomic, and regional differences among students and staff from diverse backgrounds
  • Expertise in external community-based youth development/social services
  • Demonstrated experience in project management
