SUPERVISORY EQUIPMENT SPECIALIST

Job TitleThe primary purpose of this position is to serve as a first level supervisor, providing planning, directing, organizing, and exercising control over DoD civilian and contract employees assigned to the Operations and Maintenance Division of the Range Support Directorate at Nevada Test and Training Range.Responsibilities include:Planning, organizing, and directing the activities of NTTR, ensuring that RS Operations and Management Division comply with legal and regulatory requirements.Ensuring that RS Operations and Management Division meets customer needs.Exercising supervisory personnel management responsibilities.Representing NTTR with a variety of installation and functional area organizations.Providing direction and management of the NTTR's primary technical support contract.Requirements include:Meeting the requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Group Coverage Qualification Standard for Administrative and Management Positions, Equipment Service Series 1670.Having at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-12, or equivalent in other pay systems.Knowledge of electronic-electrical equipment required in the operations, maintenance and support of an electronic combat range.Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices and procedures.Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and staff of a small to medium sized organization.Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.Ability to analyze, plan and adjust work operational segments to meet program requirements and objectives within available resources.Knowledge of and skill in applying various methods and techniques for investigating, analyzing and effecting corrective action.Knowledge of a wide range of methods, principles, and practices to evaluate contractor conformance to contractual quality requirements.Part-time or unpaid experience and volunteer work experience will also be considered.Additional information regarding interagency career transition assistance programs, military spouse preference, priority placement program, and other eligibility requirements can be found in the required documents section of this vacancy announcement.
