This company is a public clinical stage company with numerous products in their pipeline developing small molecule oncology therapeutics.


Leading Computational Chemistry, you'll play a pivotal role in expanding structure-based drug design and integrating modern ML methodologies to enhance their design cycle. You will also be tasked with managing a team of 3-4 Computational Chemists.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop strategy to expand structure-based drug design capabilities.
  • Utilize ML methods to improve design efficiency.
  • Mentor and develop computational chemistry scientists.
  • Collaborate with scientists to foster scientific curiosity and a robust portfolio.
  • Advance research portfolio and enhance scientific reputation through presentations and publications.
  • Establish and lead strategic technology partnerships.


Required Skills and Experience:

  • Ph.D. in a relevant field with 15+ years in pharma/biotech.
  • Expertise in molecular docking, pharmacophore development, library design, ML methods, and protein simulations.
  • Proven track record in applying ML methods to drug discovery.
  • Recognized leader in early drug discovery phases with patents and publications.
  • Ability to interpret experimental outcomes and plan research goals.
  • Oncology knowledge and excellent communication skills.
  • Successful experience in coaching and developing individuals and teams.
  • Experience identifying hits and leads with in silico methods.
