We've been retained by a leading smart building software vendor who have just received $30M Series B funding.


They are in search of a full-time Senior Engineering Manager enthusiastic about building engineering, playing a critical role in onboarding buildings into their smart building platform. Their mission is to provide clients with the best experience possible, relying on a team of talented individuals who share a passion for excellence.


WHAT THE CANDIDATE WILL DO:

  • Manage staff and assign tasks to senior engineering and technical personnel.
  • Oversee team logistics and resource allocation, balancing day-to-day direction with R&D opportunities.
  • Ensure timely and high-quality delivery of outcomes.
  • Document common practices and seek areas of efficiency improvement.
  • Directly contribute to team tasks with hands-on engineering work.
  • Communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with the Mission Control team lead to enable special projects and set team direction.


WHAT THE CANDIDATE NEEDS TO SUCCEED:

  • Professional experience in personnel and project management.
  • Expert-level knowledge of the smart building industry, including building management systems and commercial HVAC controls.
  • Expert-level knowledge of real estate market and construction processes.
  • Experience with direct client interaction to ensure successful product delivery.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects from concept through execution while meeting deadlines and maintaining quality.
  • Excellent multitasking, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
  • Expert-level ability to document and create scalable processes.


GOOD TO HAVE:

  • Experience with building management systems and commercial HVAC controls, Niagara/BMS Certifications a plus.
  • Knowledge of industry communication protocols (BACnet, Modbus, LON).
  • Knowledge of IT network infrastructure practices.
