Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and organized Medical Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for administering (generic versions of Ozempic and Mounjaro) categorized as  GLP-1 injections, scheduling patients, following up with patients, and answering questions related to GLP-1 therapy. The Medical Assistant will be responsible for ordering medications and maintaining a strict inventory.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer GLP-1 injections to patients as prescribed by healthcare providers
  • Schedule patients for GLP-1 injections and follow-up appointments
  • Follow up with patients to monitor their response to GLP-1 therapy and address any concerns or questions
  • Answer patient inquiries related to GLP-1 therapy, including symptoms, side effects, and medication interactions
  • Order medications and supplies as needed, ensuring accurate and timely delivery
  • Maintain a strict inventory of GLP-1 medications and supplies, including tracking expiration dates and monitoring stock levels
  • Prepare and maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including documentation of injections, follow-up appointments, and patient communications
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure seamless patient care and communication
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to infection control and safety protocols
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to improve patient outcomes and office efficiency

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in medical assisting or related field preferred
  • Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or CCMA) required
  • 1-2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant, preferably in a similar setting
  • Willing to learn and develop GLP-1 knowledge about medical weight loss including medications, dosing, and potential side effects
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and staff
  • Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines
  • Basic computer skills, including electronic medical records and scheduling systems
  • Excel Skills

Work Environment:

  • This is a full-time position, working 40 hours per week
  • The work environment is a fast-paced medical office, with frequent patient interactions and deadlines
  • The Medical Assistant will be required to stand for long periods, lift up to 25 pounds, and move quickly and efficiently throughout the office
