ABOUT ADIFF
The African Diaspora International Film Festival (ADIFF) is a prestigious and culturally significant event that celebrates films and filmmakers from the African Diaspora and beyond. Founded in 1993, ADIFF showcases a wide range of films that explore the diverse experiences, stories, and voices of people of African descent across the globe. The festival’s mission is to promote the richness and diversity of the African Diaspora through cinema, featuring works that highlight cultural, social, and political issues that are often underrepresented in mainstream media.
Held annually in New York City, ADIFF attracts a broad audience, including filmmakers, scholars, and film enthusiasts, offering screenings, panel discussions, and Q&A sessions with directors and actors. The festival provides a platform for both emerging and established filmmakers from Africa, the Caribbean, Latin America, Europe, and North America. Films presented at ADIFF cover a wide range of genres, including dramas, documentaries, comedies, and shorts, addressing topics such as identity, migration, history, and social justice. With its commitment to fostering dialogue, cultural exchange, and artistic expression, ADIFF continues to play a pivotal role in shaping the narrative of the African Diaspora in the film industry.
