Data Testing Lead

AVER is seeking a Data Testing Lead with Federal Civilian customer experience to lead overall testing of a technical solution that includes developing a test approach, defining a test plan, and building/performing test cases and scenarios. This effort is part of a larger implementation of a new COTS-based Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system for a complex Financial Systems Modernization (FSM) program. Responsibilities include:

  • Lead and manage testing efforts for Government agency's financial & accounting system development.
  • Develop and establish testing approach/strategy including test type, timeline, scope of testing, environments, and rules of engagement.
  • Prepare and supervise defect strategy, defect triage, defect procedures, and report results.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and business users in determining ways to define test-accepting criteria and obtain sign-off of test results.
  • Plan, implement, and coordinate with client and other stakeholders for cutover and migration activities.
  • Ability to work with ERP functional & technical teams to capture test data requirements to develop test cases, test scenarios, and test scripts.
  • Hands on development and execution of complex SQL queries for testing.
  • Utilize methods of automation testing such as scripting or using automation tools.
  • Ensure end-users and stakeholders are trained and knowledgeable of the UAT & UIT procedures and have the ability to assess all testing findings.
  • Integrate and develop testing schedules with the master project plan.
  • Prepare and execute UAT and UIT end-to-end tests as needed.


Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Systems).


Experience Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in leading testing activities for financial & accounting system.
  • 3+ years of financial experience in government financial system.
  • 6+ years of using SQL to perform data manipulation and retrieval for testing.
  • Experience using automation testing tools and writing scripts for testing.
  • Knowledge of database concepts, such as normalization and indexing.
  • Hands on experience building and executing complex SQL queries for testing purposes.
  • Experience working with government systems (i.e., SharePoint, ServiceNow, MS Teams) and stakeholders.
  • Proficient with MS Office (e.g., MS PowerPoint, MS Word, MS Excel).
  • Self-starter and is quick to learn and put new skills to use.
  • Ability to work both independently and with a team to solve problems.
  • Strong attention to detail, time management and follow-through.


Desired Requirements:

  • Prior experience supporting DHS and knowledge of DHS-ICE organization preferred.
  • Active DHS clearance (EOD).


Security Requirements:

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a government clearance (Public Trust)
  • This role supports a government agency which requires U.S. Citizenship
