Position Overview:
- Aborder is seeking a talented and experienced compliance professional to join our team in the role of Product Quality Manager in Las Colinas, Texas.
- The Product Quality Manager will ensure that the company’s products are compliant with all applicable laws and regulations. Candidates will work collaboratively with other relevant internal and external groups to ensure Aborder’s products are compliant while helping the company continue to grow and develop.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive product regulatory compliance program that ensures Aborder’s products comply with all relevant laws, regulations, standards, and related business requirements.
- Research, review, and analyze federal, state, and local legislation and regulations, standards, and related business requirements pertinent to Aborder’s business and practices.
- Review and analyze regulatory compliance documentation and submissions to federal agencies.
- Establish and maintain relationships with regulatory authorities, industry associations, and external consultants, and actively participate in industry forums.
- Research and evaluate different risk factors regarding business decisions and operations.
- Assess adequacy of compliance programs under applicable standards and make recommendations to senior management.
- Create and implement compliance training program aligned with company goals.
- Make recommendations to support company leaders responsible for compliance.
- Act as the primary point of contact for compliance audits or investigations.
- Participate in a variety of projects in support of Aborder’s global compliance program.
- Maintain proficiency with various regulatory requirements regarding Aborder’s products.
- Work with an international team during product development, launch, and stabilization to ensure regulatory compliance.
Qualifications:
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of laws and regulations within the consumer products space.
- Ability to anticipate legal compliance issues or risks and to “see around the corner.”
- High degree of organization agility, professional ethics, and integrity.
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments, troubleshooting issues in real-time, and overseeing multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite/Google Suite.
- 5-7 years of experience working in regulatory compliance or regulatory affairs for a consumer products company, or in a highly regulated industry.
- BA/BS in engineering or a technical science required.
- J.D. plus admission to practice law in at least one jurisdiction preferred, but not required.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds at times.
- Ability to work in an open and collaborative work environment.
