We are a well-established small employee owned company that has been in business since 1987. Our client focus has historically concentrated on the design and installation of general construction, process piping, and mechanical installation projects with a strong presence in the water and wastewater industries.

We have set ourselves apart by establishing a relationship with our clients that includes an understanding of their business environment, goals, requirements, and technical aspects required to help them achieve their business goals and objectives.

The successful candidate will have experience in estimating, purchasing, submittal review, and cost control on civil and/or mechanical type projects. The applicant must have the ability to lay out pipe systems and equipment as well as the ability to coordinate subcontractors in the field. Experience in water, wastewater, food and beverage industries will be beneficial, but not required. Applicants should have first-hand knowledge in the construction of concrete, earthwork, mechanical equipment, and process pipe work. A major responsibility of this position includes interfacing with client representatives and subcontractors, therefore the individual applying for this position must have excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to coordinate all aspects of a project between the owner, engineer and subcontractors. The applicant must be able to have the skills to estimate, buy out projects, forecast cost and schedule. A strong background in mechanical construction is preferred. Duties will include, but are not limited to, scheduling, purchasing, submittal review, preplanning, safety, layout, and project closeout.

Qualifications:
  • We are seeking professionals with the following qualifications:
  • Degree in mechanical engineering, civil engineering or construction management.
  • 2-5 years of construction management experience.
  • Proficient in estimating, scheduling, budgeting cost, field supervision, financial reporting, and client relationships.
  • Ability to interface with a variety of technical and business personnel with courtesy, tact and diplomacy.
  • Excellent communication skills (both oral and written) to direct organize and communicate with team members at all levels.
  • Negotiation skills.
  • Decision making skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage time
  • Ability to establish relationships and lead people
  • Self-motivated

Essential Functions:
  • Build and maintain sound, trusting relationships with co-workers, owners, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Maintain, as effectively as possible, a continuous unbroken flow of equipment, materials, and information to field personnel (i.e. keep the men in the field working).
  • Perform detailed analyses and comparisons of subcontractor and vendor scopes and pricing.
  • Properly communicate, coordinate, and schedule subcontractor responsibilities and work .
  • Maintain accurate, coherent, detailed, and reliable job files.
  • Review and approve bills and invoices for payment.


In this role, responsibilities include:
  • Prepare and track all necessary submittals. Obtain required material certifications. Preparation of the bill of material. Order necessary materials and supplies.
  • Maintain project files, current drawings, and production records.
  • Guide and/or assist field personnel with any technical matters (i.e. layout, interpretation of standards or drawings, etc.) on the project.
  • Preparation and submittal of all documentation and records required for change orders. Assist in analysis of the cost for extra work.
  • Development of the project schedule and to update, revise schedules as required. Scheduling resources to meet the project schedule.
  • Planning and value engineering of the project.
  • Overall coordination of the project including subcontractors.
  • Promote and inspect for compliance with Safety Regulations on the project.
  • Preparation of progress meetings with owner or engineer. Assist with meeting agenda and keep accurate meeting minutes. Distribute minutes and confirm the accuracy of any minutes received from the owner.
  • Approve receiving invoices.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors on outstanding issues or clarifications needed.
  • Maintain budget, work orders, and project start up.
  • Prepare correspondence to owners, engineers, vendors, subcontractors, etc.
  • Assist in estimating projects.


Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications, & Experience:
  • General knowledge of computer software, such as Auto CAD, MS Outlook, Word, Excel, Windows, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Project planning, scheduling, and estimating.
  • Preparation of subcontractor scopes of work.
  • Pricing, purchasing, and preparation of purchase orders for materials and equipment.
  • Create, read and comprehend drawings. Knowledge of and experience with various specification divisions.
