The Opportunity:
In this role, you will report to the Site Supervisor and will work closely with the Avantor‘s Lab and Production Services professionals to serve our customers by performing customized, mission-based lab work and research protocols that help return time back to science.
Location: Cambridge, MA
Shift: 7:30 AM-4:30 PM
Hourly Rate: $29/hr.(bi-weekly pay schedule)

What we‘re looking for
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate‘s or bachelor‘s degree in chemistry, biology, or a related field preferred
Experience: Previous experience in chemical handling, inventory management, or laboratory operations is helpful.
Chemical management software or laboratory information management systems (LIMS) is a plus.
Technical Knowledge: Understanding of chemical safety and Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) guidelines.
Attention to Detail: Ability to accurately manage inventory, reconcile data, and maintain detailed records.
Software Proficiency: Familiarity with inventory databases, chemical management software, and basic office software.
Organizational Skills: Strong skills in stocking, cataloging, and coordinating lab materials and chemical storage.
Communication Skills: Ability to coordinate effectively with lab managers, facilities teams, and scientist.
Physical Stamina: Capability to perform tasks such as lifting, bending, organizing chemicals, and cleaning equipment (e.g., incubators and freezers).
Must be comfortable working in laboratory settings, including cold environments (for freezer deicing) and cleanroom conditions (for biosafety cabinet cleaning).

Avantor‘s Lab and Production Services team is a crucial part of the Avantor Services group serving over 500 customers in biopharma, pharmaceutical, educational, industrial, and high-tech industries with customizable, flexible solutions and end-to-end laboratory operations support.
In this role you will:
Chemical Management:
Receive inbound chemicals, open packaging, enter into chemical management software database
Manage onsite chemical storage program including chemical container registration, chemical library audits, reporting, cataloging and storage put away.
Stock and inventory of POU and other lab locations chemicals
Arrange chemicals, ensure chemists have materials as requested/needed.
Chemical reconciliation - perform ongoing reconciliation of chemical information and locations
Freezer Deicing
Perform freezer deicing on a recurring schedule
Coordinate with lab managers on scheduling time to deice the freezer(s)
BSC/Incubator Cleaning.
Coordinate with lab managers on scheduling time to clean the incubators
Respond to decontamination, lab moves requests
Perform biosafety cabinet cleanings (interior and exterior surfaces)
