Position Summary:

This role is responsible for the 24-hour accountability for the organization, implementation, and evaluation of clinical care in the surgical areas, with direct reporting accountability. Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing, monitoring, and evaluating capital and operating budgets.
  • Providing overall leadership and decision support in surgical areas.
  • Ensuring the level of care aligns with the Mission, Vision, Values, and Guiding Principles of SRH.

Essential Functions:

  • Enhance nursing practice and patient outcomes in collaboration with organizational leadership.
  • Implement organizational strategies to improve efficiency, productivity, and patient satisfaction.
  • Manage financial performance, identifying strategies to reduce costs while improving quality.
  • Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and accrediting agencies.
  • Mentor surgical managers and oversee professional and clinical staff development.
  • Develop services focused on customer satisfaction and quality standards.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN) required. Master's in a health-related or applicable (MBA) field preferred (to be obtained within 3 years of receiving the position).
  • Minimum of five years of clinical nursing experience required.
  • Minimum of five years of managerial experience required.

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Current licensure to practice nursing in the State of Washington.
  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) Healthcare Provider BLS certification.
