JOB SUMMARY FOR MECHANICAL ENGINEER:


  • This role involves supporting the Engineering team in maintaining and developing upgrade and kitting portfolios, with responsibilities including Engineering change maintenance, BOM development, validation, and release. The position requires daily collaboration with Lead Engineers and cross-functional teams, providing exposure to product support and dealer interaction, as well as opportunities for public speaking and presentation skill development. Ideal candidates will have a background in Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Technology, proficiency in engineering tools like Teamcenter and Creo, and strong communication and teamwork skills.



RESPONSIBILITIES FOR MECHANICAL ENGINEER:


  • Support Engineering Changes: Manage and implement engineering changes for the existing Kitting portfolio, including upgrades and repowers.
  • Collaborate on BOM Development: Work with Lead Engineers and product groups to develop, validate, and release Bill of Materials (BOM) for upgrade and repower kits.
  • Prepare Documentation: Create and submit Special Instruction documentation for Upgrade and Repower Kits, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Assist in New Offerings: Contribute to the development of new upgrade offerings, ensuring they meet product and business requirements.
  • Provide Product Support: Address customer inquiries related to upgrade kits, working closely with cross-functional teams to resolve issues.
  • Engage with Cross-Functional Teams: Participate in meetings to develop and finalize engineering documentation and special instructions.
  • Daily Interaction with Engineers: Collaborate with Lead Engineers daily to understand and follow established processes and procedures.
  • Utilize Engineering Tools: Apply knowledge of Teamcenter, Creo, and Caterpillar-specific systems to manage engineering tasks effectively.
  • Foster Team Collaboration: Work in a 100% office environment, contributing to a team-oriented culture and completing assigned tasks efficiently.
  • Support Continuous Improvement: Provide feedback and insights to enhance engineering processes and support ongoing project activities.



REQUIRED EXPERIENCE FOR MECHANICAL ENGINEER:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Technology
  • 2-4 yrs. experience or equivalent experience; 8 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor’s degree.
