Loan Officer

Reports to Director/VP of Lending

Deliver exceptional member service by providing personalized assistance to both existing and potential members, addressing their lending product and service needs. Proactively identify member needs, offering suitable solutions. Exceeding Member expectations is our goal.

Responsibilities

• Be familiar with loan products, procedures, policies rates and workflow of the loan department to help with member needs.
• Analyze loan applications for approval/denial.
• Provide loan processing, closing and disbursal services to members in accordance with credit union policies, procedures and in compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Promote credit union products and services based on member needs.
• Provide members with loan product information, including consumer, auto and home equity loans.
• Mail or email loan applications and/or information to members and prospective members when necessary.
• Answer phone calls and speak to members in person.
• Conduct loan interviews and take loan applications over the phone or in person when necessary. Assist members with online applications.
• Understand and comply with all compliance issues affecting lending, including Bank Secrecy Act and OFAC.
• Ensure loan files contain documents with proper signatures, dates and other relevant data.
• Verify accuracy of loan documentation and loan system entry.
• Have a working knowledge of the VISA Credit Card department and assist with phone calls.

Qualifications

• High School diploma
• 2-3 years loan decisioning experience
• Outgoing personality and desire to help others
• Computer knowledge including Microsoft and Excel
