We are seeking an Interior Design Assistant to join our dynamic design team here at Benjamin Johnston Design, LLC, located in Houston, Texas. Our ideal candidate is talented, detail-oriented, and an energetic collaborator. This team member must have a minimum of two years professional experience in an architecture or interior design office and excellent knowledge of AutoCAD, 3D Modeling software (e.g. Revit, SketchUp), and Adobe Photoshop for interior design applications.

Opportunities and Responsibilities

  • Work under the supervision of the firm’s Director of Interior Design and in concert with other staff designers.
  • Conceptualize interior design from both a functional and aesthetic perspective in concert with a client’s requirements, goals and budget.
  • Ability to resolve complex design issues with innovative and practical solutions.
  • Demonstrates commitment to excellence in client service.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Develop interior design concepts through AutoCAD, 3D Modeling software (e.g. Revit, SketchUp), Adobe Photoshop and other tools in order to express the design intent to the project team, client, and contractors


Minimum Requirements

  • Degree in Interior Design, Architecture or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in an interior design or architecture office
  • High-level of proficiency in AutoCAD, 3D Modeling software (e.g. Revit, SketchUp), and Adobe Photoshop
  • Creative ability with interior design.
  • Exceptional collaboration and communication skills.
