ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Averro is seeking a talented Senior Mechanical Design Engineer for one of our exciting and innovative nuclear energy clients located in the Greater Seattle Area If you have extensive equipment mechanical design experience, this is a perfect opportunity for you


We are seeking a mechanical engineer to create design solutions for the design development of various reactor structures and components for nuclear reactors


  • Design of reactor structures and components from requirements through final design.
  • Coordinate inputs and requirements from Engineering and Project teams to produce equipment and components design solutions.
  • Perform scoping analysis and calculations for design options.
  • Interface with the team’s engineering analysis activities.
  • Present equipment and components design results for design reviews.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent preferred
  • 8+ years experience in equipment / component design experience; relevant M.S. degree credited as two years of experience.
  • Working experience with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Section III preferred
  • Experience writing design specifications.
  • Experience in Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA).
  • Experience in finite element stress analysis, mechanical analysis methods, and commercial mechanical stress analysis modeling tools with emphasis on ANSYS.
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks concurrently during a given work week.
  • Familiarity with CAD, SolidWorks preferred.
