Position Overview:


Our Client's IT Team is seeking a skilled, dedicated, and professional Senior Network Systems Administrator to join our expanding team. This person will play a critical role in managing and maintaining a secure and stable Windows/Linux networking environment with a strong focus on cybersecurity, back-up and disaster recovery. This person will be working closely with other members of the infrastructure team including a Network System administrator, IT Help desk team and the Applications team.


Duties and Responsibilities:


  1. · Administer and maintain a Windows-based and Linux networking environment ensuring the security, stability, and optimal performance of all systems.
  2. · Manage and maintain virtual machines within VMWare environment
  3. · Administer & manage hardware such as SAN, NAS, switches, physical servers, firewalls
  4. · Develop and maintain a comprehensive backup and disaster recovery plan to ensure business continuity in the event of data loss, hardware failure, or other unforeseen incidents.
  5. · Maintain and update network security policies, procedures, and protocols to protect sensitive information and reduce the risk of cyberattacks.
  6. · Monitor network performance and troubleshoot any issues, collaborating with the IT team and external vendors as necessary.
  7. · Provide exceptional customer service and end-user support for network and systems-related issues, including hardware, software, and connectivity problems.
  8. · Develop and maintain accurate network documentation, including system configurations, network diagrams, and inventory records.
  9. · Plan and execute network and system upgrades, ensuring minimal downtime and seamless integration with existing infrastructure.
  10. · Implement and manage a robust patch management process to maintain up-to-date system and software security across all network devices and servers.
  11. · Collaborate with other IT staff and management to support company-wide technology initiatives and projects, demonstrating strong communication and collaboration skills.
  12. · Participate in a weekend rotation for on-call IT support, providing timely assistance and troubleshooting for urgent issues that may arise outside of regular business hours.


Qualifications and Experience:


  1. · Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  2. · Minimum 7 years of experience in network administration, with a focus on Windows networking environments, Linux server management, Azure Active Directory, wifi network, and patch management.
  3. · Demonstrated experience in a mid to senior-level role, providing guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
  4. · Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and Azure Active Directory,
  5. · Experience with Linux server administration, including the configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of services such as Apache and MySQL
  6. · Familiarity with network security best practices, firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
  7. · Experience with backup and disaster recovery planning and implementation.
  8. · Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex network and system issues.
  9. · Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical team members and provide exceptional customer service.
  10. · Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment, working effectively with team members and stakeholders.
  11. · Relevant certifications, such as CompTIA Network+, Security+, or Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE), are a plus.


This position will be a 6-month contract to start. There is the chance for extension / conversion if the project is going well, but we cannot guarantee anything.


This position will be 5 days onsite out of Canton, MA.
