Accounting ManagerThis is a contract-to-hire opportunity. This is an on-site opportunity in Baltimore, MD.About This PositionWe're seeking an Accounting Manager to oversee daily accounting operations, support financial reporting, and guide a team of Accounting Specialists and Senior Accountants. In this role, you'll lead core functions such as general ledger, prepaid, fixed asset, and ATM accounting. You'll also support month-end close, year-end reporting, and financial analysis, while identifying opportunities to streamline processes and enhance accuracy. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys leadership, problem-solving, and improving the efficiency of accounting operations.Job ResponsibilitiesOversee daily accounting functions, ensuring all tasks are completed accurately and by established deadlines.Prepare and review journal entries, financial reports, subsidiary ledger reconciliations (ATM, Fixed Assets, Prepaids), and processor reports.Support budget preparation, variance analysis, and quality control for year-end tax reporting and regulatory submissions.Identify gaps and implement process improvements to increase departmental efficiency and accuracy.Manage a team of accounting professionals through coaching, development, performance management, and regular touch-base meetings.Maintain strong communication with internal departments, assist staff as needed, and keep leadership informed of key updates or concerns.Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal procedures, regulations, and Credit Union standards.Skills/Requirements5+ years of accounting experience, including supervisory responsibilities.Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, account reconciliation, and month-end close processes.Experience preparing journal entries, analyzing variances, and reviewing complex financial data.Ability to research and resolve accounting discrepancies and interpret accounting standards.Proficient in accounting systems, reporting tools, and general computer applications.Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to provide clear guidance and support to team members.Ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain confidentiality, and collaborate across departments.Additional InformationHybrid schedule available based on performance and ability to maintain strong working relationships.Must remain compliant with all applicable laws, regulations, and Credit Union standards.Contract length, schedule details, and extension potential can be discussed during the interview process.Pay RangeSalary Range: $90,000 - $100,000YUPRO Placement is the nation's leading skills-first placement firm, placing and promoting historically overlooked talent into permanent hire, apprenticeship, and contract job assignments.
