LHH is teaming up with a national insurance provider in search of an experienced Buyer. While this position is 100% remote, candidates who are based near Rancho Cordova, CA are strongly preferred. This is a contract position expected to go through December 2024.


The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure efficient and responsible management of funds. This includes collaborating with business partners to understand critical purchase requirements, leading sourcing negotiations, and overseeing vendor management. The role involves executing best practices in sourcing, conducting fair and objective RFx award analysis, and acting as the main point of contact for business unit interactions during the implementation of purchase agreements.


The ideal candidate is an experienced procurement professional with at least 6 years in sourcing and vendor management, ideally in healthcare. Proficiency in Oracle Financial and vendor risk management systems is required, along with strong negotiation, communication, and data analysis skills. The candidate should also excel in collaborating with finance, accounting, and IT teams.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Make significant purchase decisions in consultation with management.
  • Manage financial commitments for various items including IT hardware, software, services, and supplies.
  • Conduct sourcing, bidding, and purchasing processes with integrity and transparency.
  • Award purchase agreements based on clear and objective criteria.
  • Oversee sourcing projects to ensure adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Gather and analyze business requirements to balance cost with key needs.
  • Source and qualify vendors, monitor quality, negotiate prices, and ensure the best value.
  • Track vendor performance, market trends, and ensure pricing aligns with industry standards.
  • Develop and manage project timelines for RFx awards.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for all procurement activities.
  • Provide training on sourcing and procurement processes and standards.
  • Perform analytics and report KPIs related to sourcing, bidding, procurement, and supplier diversity.
  • Coordinate with team members, business partners, and vendors to support organizational goals.
  • Manage top vendor reviews and ensure compliance with purchasing policies.
  • Serve as the main contact for sourcing and procurement inquiries and support.


Required Skills & Experience:

  • Proficiency in ProcessUnity or similar vendor risk management systems.
  • Experience with Oracle Financial.
  • Healthcare industry experience is strongly preferry
  • Strong negotiation and procurement skills.
  • Excellent communication and data analysis abilities.
  • Ability to collaborate across finance, accounting, and IT teams.
  • High attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Office 365, Outlook, and Oracle EBusiness.
  • Willingness to travel if needed.


Location: 100% Remote. Preference given to candidates based near Rancho Cordova, CA

Pay Rate: $32-$39/hour, depending on experience

Hours: Full time. 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM PST

Duration: Contract – ASAP start estimated through December 2024
