The Association for Iron & Steel Technology (), located in Warrendale, Pa. (Cranberry Township) seeks a full-time Staff Engineer to join its Technology Programs department. The position requires working with committee members to develop training and association programs. 


Job functions will include:

  • Work with committee leadership to prepare meeting agendas for technology committees.
  • Record, transcribe and distribute meeting minutes of technology committees.
  • Coordinate and facilitate technology training conferences and international study tours.
  • Assist in the development and logistics of technical programs for major conferences.
  • Act as AIST Representative to technology committee functions including planning meetings, committee meetings, study tours, and technology training events.
  • Attend major conferences and assist in supervision of the technical sessions.
  • Review technical articles for publication in I&ST.
  • Collaborate with other AIST departments to design charts, reports, publications and information pieces for technology committees and their activities.
  • Maintain and enhance technical content of AIST products as needed.
  • Provide relevant technical expertise to any Grant Programs as needed.
  • Perform other duties as required for need by the Association.

 

Successful candidates will possess a Bachelor of Science Degree (engineering, manufacturing or related degree preferred) and/or 2+ years comparable steel industry experience. Previous AIST technology committee membership is a plus The duties require competent computer skills including word processing, spreadsheet development and database management. Travel is required as necessary to serve the needs of the Technology Committees, Technology Training Conferences, Member Chapter Events and the major conferences such as AISTech. Some travel may be international.
