As an Electrical Controls Programmer, you will use your engineering and technical background to collaborate on electrical and controls engineering aspects of a solutions project. As a NEFF Electrical Controls Programmer, you will have the following responsibilities:

SPECIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

· Confer with management, production, sales, and customers to determine machine sequence of operation for quoting and final program development.

· Develop complete machine solution programs, including industrial controllers (PLC’s, motion controllers), robotics, operator interface, machine vision and automatic identification (RFID and bar code technologies).

· Collaborate with other Neff resources to validate product selection for machine vision, ID and robotics.

· Prepare and communicate specifications for purchase of materials and equipment/tooling when necessary.

· Examine and verify technical drawings and specifications of electrical control Solutions, to ensure that installation and operations conform to standards and customer requirements.

· Electrical/controls design – assist in the specification of sensors, motors, servo Solutions, etc. for final design.

· Assist with Solutions project assemblies, including mechanical fabrication and electrical cabinet wiring.

· Lead system run-off’s or factory acceptance testing, including on-site at customer facilities.

· Travel typically between 0 and 9 days per month is required. This would include travel between our Indianapolis and Warrandale branches to program builds locally, and travel to customer facilities for run-off and technical support of installed systems.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field.
• 1 – 2 years of work experience with CAD software or electrical design.
• 2 – 5 years of programming experience with industrial equipment including PLC’s, machine vision systems, motion control and/or robotics is required.
• Pneumatic and electrical circuitry experience is preferred.
