In this role, you will support our user research operations (UXO) team by managing research projects from start to finish. This includes sending devices to study participants, providing them with technical support and troubleshooting for the devices and our systems, tracking shipments of devices, and monitoring study participation. You will work closely with the UXO manager and user research (UXR) team to ensure the success of complex research projects.



Note: While some work can be done remotely, this role will require about 3 days a week in-person in our Salt Lake City office to process device shipments and returns.

Key Responsibilities

  • Catalog and track the location and status of smart devices sent to panelists for usability testing
  • Provide support communication with panelists around device shipments, troubleshooting device issues, and other support needs.
  • Work with the UXO team to plan device allocation for upcoming usability studies, and communicate about device status.
  • Provide process improvement and product improvement feedback to the larger team.
  • Work closely with UX researchers and leadership team members to plan research projects to ensure they are completed according to customers' specifications, on time, and budget.


 

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, or 3+ years similar experience.
  • Strong communication (written and verbal) skills, and comfort helping users of different technology troubleshoot software and hardware issues.
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Experience with Google Docs, Google Sheets or similar products


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with shipping and receiving packages and/or tracking devices for an IT team
  • Experience writing and executing SQL and/or Mongo database queries
  • Experience in IT, logistics, or inventory 
  • Experience working with various smart home devices, smartphones, and other new technologies
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills
  • Track record for being detail-oriented with a demonstrated ability to self-motivate and follow through on projects
  • Comfortable working in a frequently changing, sometimes ambiguous environment
