We are currently hiring a Pricing & Risk Analyst to join our team.


As a Pricing & Risk Analyst, you will be supporting the Risk Management Team in overseeing and analyzing their growing portfolio of ~$453MM+ in AUM, comprised of advances to plaintiffs and attorneys against pending legal settlements. With a surge in demand for legal funding and the change in capital markets (increased cost of capital and availability to capital), the Pricing and Risk Analyst will be responsible for managing the pricing process ensuring that appropriate rates, fees, and terms of funding agreements are implemented consistently across USC’s various origination channels. In addition, the Pricing & Risk Analyst will assist the Director of Portfolio Management & Risk to analyze and mitigate key concentrations across the portfolio.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS


  • Oversee pricing desk to determine appropriate terms and fees are captured on new originations and collaborate with Sales to ensure that contracts consistently reflect the Company’s latest pricing guidelines. Review macroeconomic trends to provide recommendations to pricing levels to maintain / improve margins
  • Develop reporting to audit pricing changes for US Claims and its exclusive partners to ensure the Company maintains compliance with applicable reporting regulations
  • Manage new carrier creation process and carrier rating research: validate information entered by Submissions Team. Monitor carrier ratings process and monitor exposures with a focus on carriers with non-investment grade ratings or escalation of recent downgrades
  • Oversee Power BI reporting for facility ineligible receivables and collateral exceptions. Coordinate with Operations team or remediation / clearing of exception list
  • Compile monthly Risk Management Dashboard and provide analysis on key risk indicators
  • Assist Director of Portfolio Management & Risk with ad hoc projects as needed


EDUCATION, SKILLS, & REQUIREMENTS


  • Bachelor’s degree, economics / business studies preferred
  • 2+ years of experience, preferably in financial sector (banking and specialty finance company)
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills required
  • Ability to work in an innovative environment and enjoy working with a diverse team with multiple backgrounds and talents; ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize appropriately
  • Team player who enjoys working with others and reaching out proactively throughout the firm
  • Proactive and dynamic personality willing and able to drive strong results
  • Comfortable working under pressure and flexible in adapting and responding to constantly evolving conditions in a high exposure capacity
  • Strong attention to details
  • High degree of integrity and honesty
  • Experience working with Microsoft CRM is a plus
